Bookkeepers obtain the license by completing the Certified Public Bookkeeper Program or completing the following requirements.

Courses

Develop bookkeeping and QuickBooks knowledge.

1. Accounting Fundamentals or course equivalent
2. QuickBooks Fundamentals or course equivalent
3. Business Communication or course equivalent

Certifications

Communicate and assure employers or clients of your bookkeeping and QuickBooks knowledge.

1. Bookkeeping Certification
2. QuickBooks Certification
3. Business Communication Certification

Training

Learn best practice bookkeeping using Intuit QuickBooks all-in-one platform powered by AI processes, procedures, and steps.

‍Bookkeeping with Intuit QuickBooks or training equivalent

Experience

Complete NACPB's 3 month bookkeeping experience program or perform bookkeeping under the direction and supervision of an educated, experienced bookkeeper or accountant for one year or 2,000 hours.

Code of Conduct

Agree to abide by the Code of Professional Conduct.

Continuing Professional Education

Obtain 24 hours of CPE each year beginning the year after you obtain your license.

Annual Renewal

• Complete Annual Application for License Renewal
• Complete Annual CPE Reporting Certification Form (included in the Application for License Renewal)
