Tis the season to get a bookkeeping, accounting, or tax job.
Some of the best jobs, as far as pay and experience, are working for public bookkeeping, accounting, and tax service companies.
Practically all public bookkeeping, accounting, and tax business employers hire new employees the last quarter of the year for the busy season.
Some of these jobs are only for the busy season (January - May), but they provide you an opportunity to gain experience and get your foot in the door.
These firms include local CPA firms and national tax organizations such as H&R Block (some H&R Block offices also provide bookkeeping services).
Many of these companies do look for on-site or remote employees. Intuit Live (full service bookkeeping) and TurboTax Live (full service tax preparation) are primarily remote positions.
The best time to send your cover letter and resume to these organizations is the first of November.
The best time to scan for jobs on job sites, such as Indeed, Zip Recruiter, and local job sites, is from November 1 to December 15.
