A QuickBooks advisor is an individual who provides QuickBooks services to the public. QuickBooks advisors generally provide QuickBooks setup, training, and support services to their clients, who may be businesses or nonprofits.
What is a Certified QuickBooks Advisor?
Certified QuickBooks Advisors (CQAs) are distinguished from other QuickBooks advisors by stringent licensing requirements. They have extensive bookkeeping knowledge, skills, experience, and ethics. In order to qualify for the CQA license, CQAs must possess bookkeeping education, pass a national certification exam, meet experience requirements, abide by a code of professional conduct, and obtain a minimum of 16 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) annually.

Steps to Become a Licensed Certified QuickBooks Advisor (CQA)

Follow these 4 steps to Begin the Journey to a Rewarding Career:
1. Pass the Uniform CQA Examination
Note:Not required for CQA candidates who completed the NACPB Certified QuickBooks Certification Program or Intuit's Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor program.
2. Obtain One-year of QuickBooks Advisor Experience
Candidates must obtain one-year (2,000 hours) of QuickBooks advisor experience.
3. Agree to Abide by the NACPB Code of Professional Conduct
4. Complete and Submit the CQA Application for Licensure
Candidates must complete and submit the CQA Application for Licensure.
